Volunteer Opportunities With ECFiber
If you have an interest in developing EC Fiber, help us recruit pre-registrants in your own or neighboring communities.
The ECFiber Executive Committee has created three committees, open for membership from the ECF community at large, in the areas of education system development, health care system development, and public safety/first responder development.
These committees have been established for two purposes: first, to identify ways in which these sectors can make best use of the ECF fiber-optic network, and second, to apply for grant support to enable them to do so, as provided for in the recently-passed federal “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act” (ARRA – “stimulus” plan).
Once financing has been secured, there will be additional opportunities to volunteer. Check this space after that announcement.
Education Committee
At present, the Education Committee consists of three Governing Board members, Tucker Cruikshank (Rochester), Carl Groppe (Stockbridge) and John Bloch (Montpelier). The committee is working on an education “vision statement” and has begun identifying and outlining projects suitable for federal funding under ARRA.
